Scams Awareness Week runs from 8 to 12 November. As a partner organisation to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for this important week, we will be encouraging the community to talk to their family and friends about scams and safe online behaviour.
With Victoria Police and Crime Stoppers Victoria, we’ve created a podcast titled ‘Let’s Talk Scams’, featuring Detective Superintendent Jane Welsh, Victoria Police Cybercrime Division and Scott Wall, Chief Information Officer BankVic, that explores many of the ways people can be tricked and scammed while online and what individuals can do to prevent becoming a victim.
As experts in this field, both Scott and Jane discuss what people should know and how they can prevent illegal activity from happening to them. The full podcast will be released on Monday 8 November.
