As an ongoing supporter of the Blue Ribbon Foundation, this year BankVic is again recognising Blue Ribbon Day and National Police Remembrance Day to pause and honour the 170 Victoria Police members who have died in the line of duty and to thank those who continue to serve for our community.

During September many of our people reflected on what Blue Ribbon Day means to them through video messages. Our people feel a close connection to our Victoria Police members currently serving and members who have retired and our video messages capture this emotion as we strive to make their lives easier, and look after their financial wellbeing. Blue Ribbon Day will see us pause and reflect on their commitment to our community.

You can watch our Blue Ribbon Day video.

Every year we turn our branches blue for this significant day, and this year will be no different. Our branches at our three Victoria Police sites – Victoria Police Centre, City West and Glen Waverley – are selling merchandise, our digital screens will display the check ribbon, and a check ribbon has also been placed on the branch floor to further show our respect during September and October.

You can get involved. Blue Ribbons and merchandise are available at our branches, Woolworths and at The Cop Shop. You can also donate at Blue Ribbon Foundation, with all donations gratefully received. The National Police Remembrance Day website will include details of their service.

On Blue Ribbon Day and National Police Remembrance Day, and every day, we thank our members for protecting our community and keeping us safe.
